Clive runs at the Bulldog Bash every year as the car is no longer SFI legal
I'm not sure that's strictly true. It's not NFAA legal, but that's a different matter entirely. From what I understand, the chassis is still fully tagged. I could be wrong on that, though.I wasn't there to see it myself, but apparently Clive had an "interesting" experience at the Bulldog Bash this year where a departing blower belt took out rather more of that car's ability to slow down than he would have liked...
Tet, as far as I remember Clive's Car is not Tagged, but he was looking at getting the work donee to make it legal
As for the list of fastest runs etc, Why is one Mr Smax Smith missing? I thought he held the Supercharged outlaw record (which was an altered) in his Mainline Menace? or am I missing something

Just for the record:
Clive's car is one that I admire, especially the shape. However, his record was set long before we put the current NFAA rules were formulated (fuel pump/mag sizes, blower speeds, etc). As many of you will know, these were carefully considered on the basis of putting a cap on costs and to ensure sustainability. We must be doing something right, as the perfomances are improving, the show is better and more cars are appearing - all thanks to the teams that have made the investments and have the passion.
So, it is not valid to compare the performances of California Kid with any of the current genre.....
To be compliant to safety and NFAA regulations, the 'Hot Rod From Hell' would need a very significant investment as most items are not taggable. Realistically, it would probably be significantly cheaper to use what is good and start to reconstruct this swoopy machine again.
Let us hope that this is possible, because it would be a worthy addition to the ranks......

Yep Smax ran alky, he ran a 6.921 at 203.62As for the list of fastest runs etc, Why is one Mr Smax Smith missing? I thought he held the Supercharged outlaw record (which was an altered) in his Mainline Menace? or am I missing something
He is now 5th in alky list
Thanks for putting the record straight Lawrie as far as Clives car and record up against the stipulations for our class. Hey but fancy holding that record for as long as Clive has. Just shows how good it was then. Its gutting when you see them running low 5s in USA but again they are a funny car with an altered body on. Perhaps we should offer a promoter a no rules show for one weekend in amongst that big lay off over summer and try and put some good times down.
I just dont wanna see the NFAA split......Nitro and alky
I know certain people in the class dont think that alky should be in the class
I would love to go to a meeting with 16 altereds regardless of there fuel and then beat everyone there too :-)

Luke wake up and smell the coffee ha ha. Your right though it would be good to see more cars whatever their fuel but with clutches and lencos not automatic girls cars (albeit quick consistent ones) Lets hope that all these guys who say they are coming out do.
Agree with that, Glides are fine for bracket cars but the grief with input shafts......cheaper to buy a clutch and lenco. Anyone of us can help them too with settings for clutch. Still we will see.Well I hear lots of things about cars for future and if every car turned up to an event we could have 20 cars.
I think splitting the Alky from the fuel would kill the class, Alky is what keeps the show running the majority of the time!!.
Nitro is good fun and all that, but for evry good run, there are several bad ones, where as the Alky cars just seem to do lap after lap!. Its like the TF and Alky dragsters. You put the TF and Alky boys together in a cannonball type format, I bet you that Mr Wilson, Schofer and Turner would be the ones holding the trophy nine times out of ten
