I remember the blankets going round when Al wrote the Gasser off at the Pod in 1978. There was a photo around the time showing the Gasser in mid-air with one of Al's limbs protruding from inside the car.
The donation blankets were a common scene at the Pod in the '70's, maybe into the eighties and always seemed to attract a fair amount of donations. Does anyone remember the very first donation blanket and which racer it was intended for and what year ?
I always gave what little I could afford at the time.
