Yeah, he kicked a rod out (as did Jöran, FWIW). But he didn't seem overly concerned. He was in the right place at the right time, and landed on his feet with an amazing deal on his car. He had the car and 10 tonnes of spares shipped over from the states, so it's not the end of the world if he hurts a few parts. He reckons he has enough clutch parts to last 5 full FIA seasons... We can only dream of such luxuries. But he's such a nice bloke, and you're unlikely to meet a friendlier guy in the pits. I'm really pleased for him, and hope he does well this year.

At 0.8579 seconds to 60 foot, Stig also had the hardest launching car at the event as well (Thanks to AM for the data, as ever)

It counts for nothing if it all goes tits-up at sixty one feet. You have to stick to the track for (preferably) 1320 feet and get there first. If you count the preceding Test Weekend then Andy Carter ran away with the hardest-launching award having clocked 0.8309, 0.8318 and 0.8549 to sixty feet although what happened at 0.8310, 0.8319 and 0.8550 was inevitable. Andy also clocked 0.9071 on another Test Weekend pass and lost it at eighty feet.
