The record is 5.339 @ 272.73 mph by John Spuffard, l'll say 5.60 @ 260 mph as a lot of them are new set ups. The ets and speeds may improve as the season progresses.

With many new Funny Cars this season, what times and speeds do you think they will run?

I don't think that a high teen or 290 MPH is out of the question. I think the 4's will remain elusive for another season or so though until the class develops again fully.

Yup, Knut normally manages to get the cars 340ft further these days! Give it ten years...

**disclaimer, no i cannot tune a nitro car whatsoever but and this comment is in pure jest**

Mid teens I think at maybe 290 mph, although I wouldn't rule out one of them doing a Kim Reymond and leaving us all with our jaws on the floor. (lets hope so anyway)

Will they have a full field in time for the Main Event, also which driver is driving which car, apart from Spuff & Gordon Smith?

Times and speeds dont matter, competition matters. Close racing, full fields. Some of the most exciting racing has been with times that are not brilliant. These guys are on a budget, i WOULD JUST LIKE THEM TO MAKE A CLEAN PASS.

Well my ET prediction was spot on but my MPH was a little shy. Well done Spuffard, Bob Jarrett and crew!
