What car to buy

I have been watching drag racing over the past 5 years and would like to start racing. I currently have a TVR T350T but dont really want to use this so I was thinking of buying a car just for using at the drag strip.
I am thinking along the lines of a bike powered kit car running nitrous.
I do not want to spend more thank 5K on a car does anyone have any better ideas ?
