Street Weekend
Discussion
It can only be a good thing for the sport over here given the popularity of the Drag n' Drive's state side. Nice to see 23 entries already! Properly looking forward to doing it in the Nova

You sound like you'd be good fun at parties!
Prize money is actually up to £3500 already, there's a FB group with up to date sponsors etc.
You realise a normal race meeting costs that to enter, and if we win a meeting (rare) we'd just about get that entry fee back, Doorslammer's is the only meeting with strong prize money, and now this. Why be negative with that? Organisers robbing blind? If you knew how the running costs have gone up over the last few years you'd understand, the riders and drivers meeting was an eye opener that's for sure!

I will be entering my TVR for this. Just need to get the engine back in!
I was at the NSCC AGM in Blackpool this weekend and 11 arms were raised from racers intending to enter.
I think this could be the start of something big and i for one dont want to miss the opportunity.
The fact that Santa Pod and Melbourne have come together to make this happen can only be a good thing especially for the ongoing progress at Melbourne.

Nice one, at least you've got a bit of time! haha. That's cool to hear about the NSCC interest as well, more the merrier! I see today the entries are up to 28, including a certain ugly 6 second runner!I was at the NSCC AGM in Blackpool this weekend and 11 arms were raised from racers intending to enter.

As you say, anything that helps promote Melbourne has got to be a good thing, plus never know it could lead to more Street Eliminator entries down the line too.

I will be happy to run a 6 at Melbourne over the 1/8th and maybe nudging 10's at the pod/As you say, anything that helps promote Melbourne has got to be a good thing, plus never know it could lead to more Street Eliminator entries down the line too.
I reckon more cars will enter over time. It could end up a massive field.

I'll be hoping for the exact same! :-)I reckon more cars will enter over time. It could end up a massive field.
Yeah I think so, it's still really early days and already looking great doesn't it. The Facebook topic where James asked about possible entries has gone crazy! haha

I was wondering when this would happen here. Should be a different challenge to the US events with the shorter event but unprepped track in the middle.
Shame there aren't more tracks here. Wonder who the fastest will be.
It did happen here in 2014 and 2015 when V8UK ran the UK Power Tour. First event was a new sprint track in Rye onto Shakey and then York. Then in 2015 did Santa Pod and York. Both at the time 1/4 mile tracks. Shame there aren't more tracks here. Wonder who the fastest will be.
It has to be said, the weekend was epic!
80+ cars competed and drove at least 450 miles between the pod and Melbourne over 3 days
I had issues due to my TVR being rebuilt in the weeks previous but i got through the weekend without too much drama.
I was the first car to arrive at Melbourne Friday afternoon which was special!
On Sunday the niggles were sorted and i ran a PB for the car since going turbo with an 11.1 at 124. More to come.
Rumour has it there will be over 200 entries for 2024. Bring it on
