Checked the archive and the newest mention of titanium bolts is 2011.

Bearing in mind, according to my research, that grade 5 titanium bolts are 15% stronger in tensile strength and over 20% better in yield, size for size compared to 8.8 bolts, what does the panel think about using them on a drag car (ignoring cost for the moment)?

I have them on my car, along with a few other titanium drivetrain parts, only reason not to use them would be budget.

Thanks for quick response, Ken

I assume that you don't use them in place of 10.9 or 12.9 bolts?

I was given a few titanium bolts recently. Can I use steels nuts with them?

Well, if titanium wheel studs can handle your power, where can I get them? :-) Looking for M12 x 40mm x 1.5 thread.

If looking for metric or 1/4", 5/16" 3/8", then I have found Competition Fasteners very good:

http://www.competitionfasteners.com/

Shipping is £2 regardless of order size.

Finding other imperial sizes in the UK, at a reasonable price, is nigh on impossible (I haven't managed it yet) so I generally import from the States.
