Former European Pro Mod ET holder Adam Flamholc was involved in a nasty crash at roll at the NHRA Midwest Nationals. Reports of suffering only a broken arm, he was pulled out conscious. Quite scary how once the body panels are removed his arms are seen out side the roll cage as it barrel rolls.

Just for a reminder of his record breaking run at Santa Pod

The glory and agony of motorsport summed up in two short videos. Glad to hear he survived that bloody nasty crash.

The record braking clip is great. Just watching it hurtle off from behind, like being in the old shed at the Pod thumbup

With the possibility of limbs being able to get outside the cage in the event of a crash is there some sort of restraint that can be implemented, for example the stuff that's used for window webbing all around the drivers reach area?

Something needs to be done, understand arm restraints are limiting in a door car because of shifting etc but there must be a sensible solution.

If you use the window webbing material around the car frame it shouldn't interfere with driving the car at all, but in the event of body panels coming off it should keep arms inside the framework

Operate gear shifts, chute and shut offs from the steering wheel. Then you can use arm restraints.

Watching that video again, it's terrifying to see his arm flailing outside the cockpit.

Are arm restraints the answer? How much will they delay a driver exiting a door car in the result of fire etc?

I don't see arm restraints delaying exit of the vehicle any more than they do in those classes in which they are mandatory.
