Super Pro ET has another large entry - 47 to date with more to come, it would be really nice to reach the magic 50 and have an all run field - a real milestone for the class cool

IMO this is going to be the hardest class to win - Pro or Sportsman, especially if we don't reach 50 entries and have a 32 car field rolleyes There is some serious talent in the class now (and not just the young ones) and everyone is dialling in with accuracy.

Completely agree. Easily the hardest class to win! The work that goes into turning some of the cars round in time for the later rounds is incredible.

Don't forget our Super Pro Achievement awards also!

We're looking forward to seeing if we can win that this time smile We'll need to collect our decals as well I guess, as you didn't have them altogether the last time we stopped by the motorhome.

Id say whichever class you run in, pro or sportsman are all as hard as each other to win

Super Pro is now a class act, easily good enough to be the headline class at domestic events.

A bold statement. That depends entirely on a person's individual opinion on what defines hard.

I would totally agree Paul, but unfortunately Joe Public wants nitro, no nitro = small crowd. Summer nats is a classic example, you've got a class field of pro mods, fuel altereds, super pro and in the past alky cars, but very few spectators. One year was a huge washout so a fuel shoot out was out on at National Finals, big crowd.

It's a shame because I love it all but it's the big evil cackling cars that draw crowds.

A lot of spectators travel far and wide, so have to be more selective and weather conscious.
4 day events and bigger fields will always get priority as they make the journeys more worthwhile in terms of value for money/effort and offer a longer time window to see more racing in the event of r***. It's a natural pecking order.
But agreed - nitro helps a lot too! Stick it in a couple of funny cars or altereds and I'm there.

The Super Pro field is just a tads bigger than the ProET field for the Stripe 21 O.S Nationals at Shakey thus far.. quite unusual.

It's been getting bigger for the last couple of years now, several of us moved over from Pro ET last year and more have followed this year. The cars are getting faster as well now.

Spot on Adam. I went to a roundy roundy event at Hockenheim some weeks ago and the quality of machinery, pit equipment and sheer money on show was astral compared to the drag racing scene. There was a big international field which included some recent F1 cars.... nobody came. I'm guessing that motorsport just doesn't do it in the way that football does. I find it hard to understand why anyone would go to watch rugby but they do! I keep thinking that all the kids who love fast cars and hot rods will one day wake up to something like Super Pro where their dreams are out there doing it.

Yep it's crazy! With my new job I'm heavily involved in historic circuit racing, being fortunate enough to travel all over Europe on race support as well. Silverstone Classic, Oldtimers Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Millions upon millions of pounds worth of unique cars, barely any spectators but some awesome vintage wheel to wheel racing. Can't make sense of it. Europe is very blinkered - if it ain't F1 people don't care which is sad as there's some amazing talent going in lower down the food chain.

I blame football, awful lager and ignorance!

Spectators at F1 events are a bit like spectators who go to Ascot, the ones who wouldn't know a good horse from a lame mule but pleased they got to wear the hat.

To clarify though I find most sports boring and detest that most over-rated kicky ball earn millions sh**e most of all.

You could also ask, why go to spectate at a sporting event e.g football, when you can play it yourself.

Building engines and a bit of race prep on all kinds of historic circuit cars, range from 1930s to mid 60s, latest project is a bit newer - 5ltr Wildcat from a Morgan FIA GT car. Won't be at Oulton, next trips out are Goodwood, Spa and Portimao

Wow, awesome stuff. Nice one! I tend to marshal at most historic events, spa is an awesome place, if you get chance go down to the little town of stavelot, it's where the old circuit used to go out too, some really nice bars down there. Oh and if youve never been before, eau rouge will shock you!

Anyway back on topic! Yeh super pro is gonna be brilliant, and damn hard to win! Is it going to be the hardest? Who knows its going to be close between drivers n cars but things like street eliminator are hard to win, just in a different way

Eurodragster are showing 53 entries now for Super Pro ET, so we have reached the magic number to enable us to have a 64 car field bounce

I can't remember a 64 car field before in any class at the Pod, does anyone with a better memory than me know if this is a first or not?
