Lets hope for a great event at Tierp this weekend,a huge 27 cars in Pro Mod and Micke Kagered now driving Risto,s car for this event.

just a few things to think about

No UK drivers in any FIA classes

Only 2 UK riders in the FIM Classes

No entries at all in TMD what a change from last year

Two UK entries in Super Stock - Dan Williams and Rick McCann. That's commitment for you from sportsman racers smile

If could find the funds, I'd be there in a heartbeat. I'll admit it's a little disappointing that when I finally stepped up to the pro classes my chosen class imploded. But there's not a lot I can do about it.

We had all intentions to run there but the new car needs a few more runs and seat time for me, a long way to go and not race on Sunday, 27 cars for a 16 car field is going to be tough and its going to take at least a 6.20 flat or quicker to get in.
We aim to run quicker at the summer Nats, then maybe test at dragstalgia before heading to Hockenheim and the second Tierp before coming back to the UK for the Euro's and Nat finals

Funnily enough, at the start of the year it looked like I might be doing just that. Not that it would help with the lack of TMD cars competing this year.

Is there some kind of pressrelease or some article saying Micke K will take over Ristos drive?
I wonder why if thats the case, I know the last couple of seasons mostly consisted of fireballs but is he parking his team or what, anyone knows??

Tet, this could work out very well for you _if_ you can find the money to run rounds later in the year. You have an event win in the bag, your leading the points... while no one else races your still leading the points and if your doing that after the Eurofinals you will be TMD champion in your first year. It just depends on if anyone is going to race at the rounds post Tierp as to what you need to do to stay at the top of the list.

Unsurprisingly, I've already been thinking about that :-) The problem is that the bds changed the rules this year, so even if you finish top of the points at the end of the season, you're ineligible for the championship unless you've competed in at least one round in every country. There are two problems with that. Firstly it takes probably more money than I have right now, and secondly I'm 99% certain I can't make Hockenheim anyway due to prior commitments :-( I'm looking for money and trying to work out if I can rearrange things, but I think there's a reasonable likelihood of me ending the season at the top of the points but not being awarded the championship. Arse!

I guess then theres a fair chance that there will be no TMD champion this year... doesnt make sense that you could have a class, people race in it yet there is no champion.

it does seem like a very odd rule.In Theory you could win every event of the season but miss Alastaro due to illness and have no right to the championship even though you are 100+ Points clear. Crazy.

I wonder what Esko would charge to hire one of his cars to idle up the track to qualify at Alastaro? Get Werner to do the same at hockenheim (Tet, you would be there an hour) and esko again for T2. Then balls out for the finals with Grumpy. I cant see more than four cars at any events tis year. Over five rounds, two event wins and three semi final or final losses should put you there or there abouts in Monaco. I am not sure what the prize money is, but it could actually work out to be self financing.

Good idea, but I would hate to call myself a 'champion' if this senario happened to me

Pro mod and TMFC should be insane this weekend!

I dunno Pete... you'd be a champion if you did better than anyone else, which is what this scenario would be. Can't say I haven't thought the same.

Don’t see the harm in walking away with the championship under unusual circumstances, especially as a class rookie.
Better to tell sponsors that than nothing and all helps move into another season, which would hopefully become more competitive.
Nobody forced other teams to sit it out, everyone knows the deal.
The weather has played a crucial part in many a decider in the past, which seems way less fair. So you started off easy, but still put in competitive performances – where’s the shame in that?
