fairly hard braking involved, not quite getting the rear airborne but closer than I thought.
....and all I could think was 'my, that's a nice vintage mercedes

wish I hadn't braked now, I'd've ended up in the passenger seat!
-so, yeah. Can't really think where this is going, but found it amusing. Anyone else?

Had an accident once which was completely my fault following too closely to a car that stopped sharply at set of lights, it was an MGF and I ended up upside down in the passenger seat with a bent front wheel on my road bike, nice girl 
at least she saw the funny side of it, god knows how I managed to leave the bike behind because I was clipped in.

I met a convertible on a corner who was going a tad to quick, I managed to miss the front of the car by going up the bank but was clipped in so fell sideways in what can only be described as comedy sloooowmotion an nearly ended up on the chaps lap.
In my teens was riding back home for lunch and down on the bars of my almost brand new "racing bike", looked up to be confronted with the rear end of a parked car, and landed on the boot. The cars owner was mowing his lawn at the time, looked up as I picked myself and the (now bent) bike up and carried on mowing the lawn. Bike was never the same after that.

One of my mates has done similar. Twice. Once I could understand by how he managed it a second time I'll never know. First time was honking UPHILL, head down, straight into the back of a parked car with the owner in their front garden. Second time (I believe) was on the flat, again head down and straight into the back of a car at a pedestrian crossing. Muppet.I use to cycle to work once i ran sombody over.
This young woman instead of using the crossing only ten yards away decided to run across the road.
I was cycling down just behind a car and on the left it opened up to a pull in bus stop.
So she starts to sprint across knowing she can beat the car but had not seen me and in my wisdom thought 3 options
1) pull right and come close to the car behind and hope she passes me.
2) pull left into the bus stop and hope that she sees me and stops so i can go around her.
3)carry going forward and hope she spots me in time so she can avoid being hit.
I went for option 3 as it was the safest to me at the speed i was doing and as she came into view she stops i got half a shout out for her to move then CRASH.
Bike ok, but i got a nasty graze on leg and a very stiff shoulder but she was limping badly when i left.

I ran a chap over a couple of days ago.
I was tanking along in a cycle-lane, slight downhill so 20+ mph. Line of traffic to my right comes to a halt, chap on the pavement looks straight at me and then steps out
Hard on the brakes and shout "watch out!" and he just freezes
consider my options for avoiding him:
1. Try and swerve between the stationary cars into the oncoming traffic - Not doing that!
2. Try and bunny hop up the kerb on to the (busy) pavement - That won't end well either!
Decided "Oh well, he's a young chap and big enough, plus it's his own fault". Unclipped, stayed hard on the brakes to lose as much speed as possible and hit him square on. He went flying down the road in a fairly spectacular fashion, bike came to a dead stop up on it's front wheel but came back down again right way up with me still on top.
All is well that ends well though, he picked himself up and dusted himself off with no major injuries and even apologised. Both my bike and I were fine and we both continued on your way. Must have hurt like hell the speed I hit him at though! Glad it was not a woman/child/pensioner/etc.

I rented some old Raleigh gents bike last weekend. Horrid heavy old thing with swept back bars, mudguards and a smashed plastic pedal.
Because of the damage the pedal kept rolling and ending up into the arch of my boot. And because of the resulting overlap my foot would occasionally tap the wheel/guard.
As were nearing a tight corner (I was coincidentally just being told that this was the scene of many a family cycling mishap) I turned and pressed on the guard which then got totally integrated with the front wheel.
I was up in the air, desperately trying to not go over the bars, then the bike started to swing round to hit the MIL, luckily it was a track not tarmac or I'd have face planted. It was quite funny for the observers but once I'd got the back wheel down and stopped panicking I had a real flashback to having proper fun on bikes as a youth. Glad I didn't smash my face on the floor, but also glad to have had another glimpse of the real messing around on bikes from years gone by.
