It's the centre piece of a larger project here in South Wales that will mean more purpose built trails at existing centres which include:
Green and Blue Graded Trail for Afan for new riders, families and those who just want to shread an 'easy' track fast. Plus a skills area, a whole new loop around the cabins at the top of the valley. More red and black graded track (Maybe increasing the existing trails or making whole new ones)
Skills Area and another red/black graded trail for Cwmcarn AND at least one more DH track.
Whole project is going to cost £5m, North Wales is getting £6m so should be doing somthing simular.
never been such an exciting time to be a Welsh Mountain Biker.

I can't see it quite being a 'Whistler' but its certainly good news.
However lets hope they manage the traffic it'll likely see and also how they'll look to manage the severity of the runs/trails (and the twonks who smash their brains out on it).
If they can manage the trail erosion that'll occur (Whistler suffers badly, and has a team of people who maintain the area), then it's going to be fantastic.

Hmmm.Call me a heartless, fatalistic b
d, but I'm getting miffed with the number of concessions trail centres are (seemingly) being coerced into.As you may remember, I've been (slowly) getting to grips with my local DH trails and am already mourning the loss of a lethal (but challenging) tabletop, that's been dumbed-down, by removal of the kicker, into a more obviously dangerous, but less fun drop-off. I think riders need to recce trails and use judgement and not cry (or call some no-win-no-fee shyster) when they get it wrong.
