GT Aggressor XC2
Discussion
Hi All,
Some of you might have read my thread "1st bike in 25 years".
I have just been to Halfords to look at some bikes and they have the above reduced from £550 to £400.
This is still double my budget but is it too good an oppourtunity to miss.
Having thought about uses for the bike, I will definately go for a mountain bike and use is for beginner trails.
The other one which I like the look of was the Carrera Vulca V-spec for £270.
So the real question is, "is the GT Aggressor XC2" at £400 a great purchase or is there something much better when looking at the £400 range?????
How does the old 2009 compare with the Aggressor 1.0 & 3.0 which are priced at £300 & £370....so the newer models are much cheaper!!!!!! I'm confused ?!?!?
IceBoy
PS....looks like I'm upping my budget !!! *-)

Be very careful of this. I bought a GT from Halfords a few years ago because I remembered the GT name from my youth. I had to replace components left, right and centre. Recently bought a Scott Aspect for about £400 from North West Mountain Bike Centre and it's too early to report yet but it seems loads better.
Its just a good buy thats all, the vulcan is at a price point where you are getting a decent bike for the money. It will cope with the vast majority of things you can throw at it, yet it isn't to expensive that if you decide you don't like riding, you won't have lost tom much money thats all.
I only recommended it as it was slightly cheaper. Personally i'd get the Vulcan and spend the rest on a helmet and a decent set of tyres for it.

Girl friend has had one for about 9 months now. She paid £379 for it from halfords last summer. It's a great bike and I love riding it and well worth the price she paid IMO.
That said, it is a 2009 bike but the components as stated are awesome so just go for it. Love and black and white colour scheme as well!
From what i've read, 2009 bikes are better than 2010 an 2011 bikes!
