Guys,

I've some stuff to get rid of, some of it quite expensive when new. Other than the obvious PH classifieds (where I'm not convinced parts would get good exposure) where is the best place to list them. I've never sold anything on ebay but friends have done and got some quite good prices, so that is one option.

Is there anywhere else?

Singletrack World is my first choice for buying and selling bike gear but I also use Ebay quite often. There's quite an active classifieds section on BikeRadar too.

www.retrobike.co.uk

Despite certain prejudices in this forum, I've been buying and selling through that for a long while.

Good feedback system to let you know the reliability of the person your dealing with.

i just put it all on the bay for 99p no reserve. £5 shipping and your all set.

I've never been messed around, just insist on Paypal.

Fees are horrendous though but it's a lot more 'hands off' than the MTB forums where people can mess you about.

I have just sold some stuff on ebay and, so far, all is well.

Some items went for more than expected, some less but on the whole I am happy. Even after fees and postage I have got over £100 in my pocket for selling stuff that was just taking up room.

Thanks guys. Not sure I'm brave enough to put 0.99p no reserve on a set of Hope V2 brakes with a brand new never used rotor. hehe

I don't frequent any other bike forums but thanks for the suggestions.

Will see how I get on!

+1 I've sold a bunch of stuff on BR.

It's generally a good way to sell, as long as you don't mind putting up with ridiculously low 'offers' that BR tends to generate. Fixed price inc P&P is the best way to go over there.
