is this right?

I'm not a member so can't comment on how good it is but I saw this the other day.

Any good?
My bikes are covered by my M&S home policy which seems to get a lot of mentions on here because they cover anything up to £4k including away from home.

They cover items over 4k as well, it's just that you have to inform them.http://money.marksandspencer.com/pdf/HIPolicySumma...
So I won’t need to go through the hassle of totalling up the value of
my home and contents?
No, however we do ask that you inform us of individual items, sets or collections
worth £4,000 or more, which means that separate cover isn’t generally required for
items like bicycles or golf clubs.
My bikes were added as additional items on my household policy with morethan only two weeks before my Tomac Revolver FS mountain bike which I had built from parts stolen from my shed. I received a cheque from them 10 days later for the full £1800 the bike had cost me to build. Think it added £100 to the policy when the bikes were added. Given how good they were when I had to claim i can't praise them enough.
I have since invested in 5 tonnes of breeze blocks and about the sme in concrete to build a new 'shed' with a ground anchor and security cameras, so hopefully the bikes are a little safer now ;-)
