I have a £1000 cheque for Halfords waiting to be spent.
It expires in April although Halfords has said this can be extended as a lot of people are waiting for the new boardmans.

Any info on the road bikes? Or should I just get the current one.

havent seen anything but i cant imagine that given recent trends and the current exchange rates they are going to be any better than this years models, great bikes though!

I was told at the weekend, by someone who knows, that they wouldn't be in the stores before April.

Aye, that's what I wad told. Just working out if I should risk waiting or just buy now.
I don't want it yet, I have the winter bike for use up to around April/May. No point using it on the roads in there current state.

That's what I'd have thought too. I'm sure there'll still be a bike marketed just below the £1k limit specifically for the bike to work users, but I'd expect it'll be lower spec compared to the 2010 models. Exchange rates are rubbish plus with VAT going from 15% to 20%, savings have to be made somewhere.

Sorry to bump this one back up, but instead of a new thread.

Any news yet. It appears the XL bikes from the 2010 stock are all gone.

Cheers,

I can't tell you if they have them yet as I don't work there anymore, but if you go ask nicely they may be sat out back in boxes.

They don't like putting them out till the old bikes are sold or they are told to!

This has come up on a few forums and the consensus is that you will probably get less bang for your buck with the 2011 range. I haven't seen a spec quoted so I can't see that it is based on anything other than the current trend of manufacturers down speccing due to the economy.
I have a 2010 HT Pro and love it. Bling it with some White stripe Racing Ralphs and a Gold KMC chain and you to can become a 'Pimp Daddy' wink

This is my concern, but I have been too slow and now there are no cl bikes about.
At least I can geta dolan through halfords if required.
