I've been getting bogged down trying to find a road bike around the low £400 area, but think I've narrowed it down to either of these two...

Does anyone have any experience of either the Sentinal or the Defy ranges? I've read mixed things about the Pinnacle having a very upright riding position but it does look good value to me...

Best advice? Go ride both.

Hello.

I have a Defy, and while I have added a few bits to it along the way I still run the Defy frame and groupset.

I'm happy, it's seen me through about 1500 miles and I'm yet to be bored of it. Quick on acceleration, easy to handle and after long rides I feel fine.

As said though, it's worth a ride as everyone is different.

The Giant also has a better spec fork and a more modern 'fluid formed' frame.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'm going to get to a bike shop to look at a Defy in the next few days or so.
