New Carbon BMC in 'Gulf Racing' colours

BMC's new 2011 Racemachine roadbike will be offered in a colour scheme very similar to 'Gulf racing'.

The ultimate Pistonheaders roadbike (or did they just copy Pistonheader 'mrandy')?

Haven't seen any pricing yet but apparently it's going to be 30% cheaper than the Promachine.

Most people who are serious about roadbikes are in agreement that when you get to a certain price point, its about looks, as they're all very good on the tarmac. BMC bikes look different and are very marmite, which I think is a good thing, they stand out, and slowly but surely they are becoming more and more popular thanks mainly to the huge push Evans have given them.

pretty much all top end tt bikes have short seat stays that dont meat the top tube to reduce loss of power transfer through flex. it also means they can run shorter top tubes as they have much different body positions compared to road bikes.

Indeed. My own Giant does that. But its the extra triangulation peice from top tube to seat tube that I don't see any need for.

That BMC TT bike is good looking mind.

I used to think the same but the feature has grown on me. I think it may help to channel high frequency vibrations (road buzz) along the top tube and away from the seatpost (as well as increasing stiffness).

I've always liked compact seatstays though - they can offer benefits in rigidity, aerodynamics & weight.
