Haven't cycled for two weeks
Discussion
So, for the last two weeks I haven't been able to use my Specilized Allez 24 2010 model! I study martial arts and pulled a groin muscle (Stop sniggering at the back).
I'm feeling good now, and managed to do an hour on the exercise bike tonight, but I'm worried about the fitness i've lost! I normally cycle between 60-80 miles per week! Argh! I'm really missing it! Hoping to cycle to work on Wednesday (would have been tomorrow but it's going to rain and I have meetings!)
Edit for Iphone Numptiness!

Don't worry, a couple of weeks won't make much difference. The edge may have been blunted, but your core cycling fitness will be there; it will only take a couple of sessions to be back to "normal".
My last ride was a couple of weeks ago and I won't be able to ride until next weekend, then I have a triathlon (and I haven't swum since June). It won't be a problem.

Try 10+ years, then you'll know all about suffering! Used to average 250miles/week in the Pennines. I'm now strugglingly to get close to 20miles a trip in the bleedin' Fens. I'm sure there must be something up with my bike of course
There's definitely something up with the saddle, which git put razor blades in it?
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for your replies everyone! I'll be back in the saddle at 8am tomorrow morning. It's only a 10 mile cycle so I should be ok, however I am still slightly nervous!
Martial Arts tonight hasn't helped my cause, my sparring partner caught the funny bone of my elbow and now it feels all tingly and hurts when I tense my arm! A couple of ibuprofen and some sleep should help!
I'll update tomorrow to let you know how I'm feeling!

So, it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be! Managed to do 10 miles in 43 minutes, reasonable, considering there are a couple of big hills to climb!
I was pretty tired this morning, but I picked up after having some tuna at 11am...its now 1.50 and i'm feeling good, looking forward to the cycle home!

Since L2B has passed, my riding has been occasional to say the least due to work and personal commitments.
My hill climbing ability has dropped, but straight road pace is still there. I'm kicking myself for letting it slip
Kick yourself with alternating legs - it's good cross training for cycling. My hill climbing ability has dropped, but straight road pace is still there. I'm kicking myself for letting it slip

I slipped discs in my back in feb AND march and as a result haven't been out on road or mtb since Jan
Finally had MRI scan and I've osteo-arthritis in my two lowest discs. So at least I know what it is now and can work round it.
DYING to get back out again. Am thinking the biking fitness I did have 'might' have dropped off a tad
