Oh ****,what have I done

Was idly surfing this afternoon and was looking at the Ariegeoise cycle sportive site and stupidley said to my wife ,I've got a year to train for it,I should be able to do it,I'm going to enter. The only problem is winter which would get in the way(is skiing training).Over tea I told my kids who promptley pissed themselves laughing.Onwards and upwards.
Unless you're seriously unfit, with a year to train for it you should be fine, especially as you have the luxury of training in the Pyrenees instead of the almost flat SE England.
You could always get yourself a turbo trainer for the winter. They're a bit dull but 3 sessions a week should keep your legs ticking over until the snow clears and the cols re-open in err... May is it?

People have with no audax experience have done a super-randonneur (200km, 300km, 400km, and 600km) in their first year. You've got a year to get ready. You'll be fine.
Next friday I'm doing my first 200km (125miles). Never ridden more than 37 miles on road before. I am expecting to be a bit sore the next day.
