Chaps,

Don't normally like to self trumpet as there are many a member here who have done many more hardcore and scary stuff than me.

.. but am feeling quite pleased with my weeself this afternoon. At the end of what has been a pretty chunky road trip riding round Scotland, before driving all the way back to Brissle I stopped off at the Ranger carpark in Snowdonia with a mate at 2.00am this morning.

We rode and pushed to the top of Snowdon by 4.00 giving us 37 minutes before sunrise. Being the resourceful chaps that we are, we spent those precious minutes wandering about the top drinking a beer and chatting to bemused hikers, DofE'ers and other walking types who were all up there bivvying for the night. They didn't really understand what was going on.

Sun up, seats dropped and pinged off down the ranger path. We took things steady as the previous night we had got lashed in Keswick so energy levels were running low! One puncture on the way down, i admit that a couple of bits were walked, and no so long later we were back at the bottom and off to find brekkie in Bets.

Job jobbed!

I've got some photos, they're not amazing but will dig em out if you like

beer

Good stuff, that sounds like a cracking ride.

I might be doing a bivvy ride this Friday: watch the England game with a few beers, ride up to 700m (biggest hill in the area), sleep/drink/talk ste, then descend down in the morning for breakfast via a cracking singletrack descent. Depends on the weather though as I don't actually have a bivvy bag...

From the trip photos, it looks like you had an excellent time, Moon.
Lots of extra-curricular activities in addition to the rides...

But explain one thing for me.

Marmalade?? confused
