Based on the fact that it was £4.99 i just asked the wife to get one. If it i st i will put it on her bike or one of the kids. 30 function for £4.99 if it is good that is a bargain.

Abso-freakin'-lutely, its a no brainer.

Reckon I'll call in at the local Aldi on the way home, some cracking deals there. Socks (£2.49), cycling undies for £4, camera bag for £8.

The kids aqua shoes could be kinda handy for the kids on holiday as well ....

But knowing my luck our local store will either have none of these in, or will have sold out by the time I get there.

FWIW, IMHO; socks.

Aldi cycling and running socks are brilliant. They keep that nice, fluffed-up cushion to them, even after they been worn and washed umpteen times. Beware of expensive imitations.

Just returned from a 30 mile round trip to Aldi Walton on Thames. Great ride along the Thames and some bargains as well

Gloves, 2 pairs of padded pants, glasses and pump for under £20.

I never going to lose any weight doing this as I stopped by that French place on the river at Kingston, on way back, to gorge myself on bread, starters, pork chop, loads of pomme frites, a large glass of Rose and some icecream.

The Aldi on Old Kent Road won't let you wander in with your bike, wearing lycra and cleated shoes.

I got about 1/3 of the way into the shop and got collared by a big fella in a uniform...

Which wasn't nice.

Managed to grab a pair of the gloves, that were surprisingly good, some glasses - also bloody good for £3.99 & a set of the compression vest/shorts.

Got back home last night and tried the shorts on. I think they are too bike, can anyone confirm? Essentially the bottom of the legs are not gripping to my legs, they feel very baggy around the leg.

Should i be getting the smaller size?

A question I have never dared to ask but are you supposed to wear undies under cycling shorts.

Ermmm I'm a baggy combat shorts man myself with loads of stuff in the pockets.

There was a thread on Bike radar about this and the general consensus was no underwear with cycling shorts. I got some cycling underwear for the bagy shorts of the mountain bike.
