recommend 2 - 5 day bike rides

just getting back into riding and would like to do a longish bike ride - 35 - 70 miles a day for anything between 2 and 5 days. A friend mentioned he had cycled across scotland which sounds good. Want a route that is mainly roads / surfaced paths as doing it on a road bike.

What about London to Paris? The route I did a few years ago was approx 300 miles (not including the channel obviously).

I was quiet envious today I was in a bike shop picking up some bits. A couple of students were also in picking up things for there trip tomorrow, Leeds to Paris sounded fun.

Offroad through the central lakes, no. Offroad(ish) using old railways, maybe. We did it in 4 days, carrying all our camping gear and going right through the middle of the lakes (including down into Langdale - carry, not ride).

Other suggestions:
West Highland Way.
The Ridgeway.

Did the C2C a couple of years ago in three days. Great experience, but the weather in the lakes was dreadful, and we did it in August.

C2C is certainly rideable in a day. Crack out an OS map and plan a longer route if you want a mini tour.

Is there anywhere you want to visit?

I rode to Le Mans a few years back for the race. Very nice change from bombing through France at warp 9.

If it's the same as the walking route then 3 days should be easy. I did it walking in 5 at a very reasonable pace. I met a couple of blokes walking it in 2.

Nothing i've heard about riding the WHW makes it sound easy!
