MBUK GT Zaskar on eBay
Discussion
[quote]I've ridden it a few times to see what its like (not on the smoke/dart tyres though, they are like new and unridden) but i've tried to stay away from mud and grit to stop it getting scratched/damaged.
The frame is just far too small for me to enjoy and it seems a waste for me to just be storing it.

If the last bit is true then fair enough to him though, I'd prefer it to be sold to someone who would use it rather than sitting around somewhere.

Beautiful bit of kit. Forgive me being thick, but what is the MBUK connection- Competition prize or something?
MBUK = 20 yrs old http://www.bikeradar.com/blogs/article/zaskar-winn...

From that photo... he looks about 6ft-6ft1ish. He's a couple of inches shorter than Doddy, so similar height to me.
Bike looks about a 17in-18in frame.
So it 'should' be perfect size
IMHO his excuse is a weak one.Bike looks about a 17in-18in frame.

Also, me and a mateatron ( @ Rico) were chatting yesterday and we agreed that apart from the Purple Hope stuff, its not exactly the most 'special' of bikes - just a collection of shineyness...

I am an old fart been mountain biking for 20 years so suppose it a little nostalgic for me (Still have my Pace RC100 and 200) agreed that’s its not worth the claimed £3500 but it’s a nice bit of history and a shame the fella is selling it.
I'm the same...I've got my first Zaskar Le frame mounted on my garage wall...I couldn't ever sell it. Never owned the Pace bikes you mentioned but they were on my wish list at the time. That bike is very cool, i'd like to know what it rides like.
It reminds me of the kind of bikes that people were riding in the mid 90s - chrome frames, purple anodised parts, huge multi chainrings, cantilver brakes and 'mag 21s' or 2mm travel rockshox!!
I'll never forget the day i got my 10th anniversary blue and yellow Kona Nunu in 1998, it was absolutley awesome and i had spent months dreaming about it, happy times!

I've just read for the man himself that he's selling it because his parents want it out of the house!

If my parents did that (and they have done) I'd be seriously considering whether I wanted to associate with them. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/forums/viewtopic.php?...
TBH I would have sold it too if I'd have won it. Not my cup of tea, to me it would like having a old MK1 Golf GTi, Lancia Intergrale or the like in mint condition with 1000 miles on the clock. You know you'd have great fun using it, but it's a bit too nice to really use and abuse. I'd punt it on to someone would garage it (or in this case hang it on the wall) and buy something to really give some treatment to.
I have an ink blue '96 Zaskar and will not sell it!! (unless someone offered a silly amount of cash of course - unlikely) Would love to do a similar thing to it in terms of modern kit but always end up spending money elsewhere. Girlfriend has occasional use of it now. Such a cool bike.
