Hello PH!

This is my first visit to Pedal Powered and I need some advice please.

Looking to get back into shape this summer, and cycling will be a big part of it.

I will be taking the bike down the moors and nature trails around the north devon area (exmoor mainly) so will need a hardtail bike (im not to keen on full suspension)

Ive had a search around the web and the Giant Terrago seems to be the best out there for my budget (250 to 350)

Just wondering what you guys think of this bike, and can you recommend anything else that may be better that fits within my budget?

Also I'll be looking to trade in my old bmx (hardly used). Do you guys know of anywhere that does trade ins or buys 2nd hand bikes?

Cheers, Shandypants

well im not an expert on bikes but I have ridden a terrago for years. good enough bike for the price

both the terrago and XTC seem like good value bikes to me.

Ok you dont get XT gears and the like but should be fine for what you want.

or you could buy second hand

mine is still going strong so far although I have a new bike now. Its had a hard life and nothings broken on it yet.

I bought mine from pauls-cycles as for the brakes Mine had giant MPH hydraulic disks and they are almost as good as any of the avid/hayes brakes I have tried.

i'm pretty sure you will be happy with it
