Going to fit a new XT Crank to the Stiffee this weekend. I am a DIY type of lad, and prefer to do things myself if i can, without the need for expensive tools you may only ever use once or twice (was please to note i already have the Hollowtech II tools in my box of tricks, which i will need to fit the new XT smile

So, anyone devised any ingenious ways of removing well seated crank arms without cheating and using a crank puller tool? Preferably a way that leaves the old crank intact as i would like to re-use it on my g/f's bike if poss smile

regards

-Bearing/Hub puller that you use on your car.

-Big block of wood, rubber mallet and someone else to hold the bike

-Undo crank bolt and ride around block till it falls off.

What BB is it? Tapered, ISIS or octalink? Isis are the hardest to get off.
