Parts Compatability.....

Just wondering how compatable parts are with various frames...

If I was to upgrade parts on my current bike (Scott Reflex 30) how compatable would they be with other frames?

I know from experience that there are various size seatposts are there other parts that are size specific to frames?

Just weighing up the pro's and cons of upgrading parts and then transfering to another frame or whether to stick with what I have and save for another complete bike!

Issues are usually bottom bracket width, seatpost size, and front mech (top/bottom pull, and size of seat tube). Other stuff will usually be fine on anything, although stem length is quite variable depending on frame geometry.

From experience, Scott frames have a strange headtube sizing which requires a certain type of headset (or at least the Scale frames do anyway)
