GT MTB Frame Sizes
Discussion
I'm just contemplating buying my first MTB in about 12 years.... my old one has been rotting away at the back of the garage for years, but I really want to start riding again.
I've had a GT in the past (until it was stolen), and know I 'get on' with the geometry etc. - so my plan is to score a really good deal online, without really getting out there and sitting on loads of bikes, as I don't really have the time or the inclination to do this.
However, GT have, in their wisdom, decided to size the bikes XS-XL, and I haven't been able to find a definitive answer as to how this translates into inches.
Does anyone have any ideas? - my inside leg is 29" (I'm only 5ft 8in) so I reckon I need around a 16-18" frame.
I'm also a bit out of touch, so are the GT 'Aggressor' range any good?

All the Geometry info is there for each bike, click the button on the right of the bike image.
At a guess, a 'L' will be an 18/19" frame.
GT's have pretty standard geometry so dont be put off trying some other frames.
Good value though.

Missed that when I was looking at the site.
Local 'specialist' dealer has some 2007 GT Avalanche 3 disc braked bikes in stock - for £269 - but only XS and S sizes left. Looks like I need an S, anyway.
Thinking of grabbing one of those, plus a CycleOps 'Wind' trainer to help me get back in shape. (I can use it on the decking in the back garden).

I'm just under 6' and have a medium GT Avalanche 2.0. Fits me perfectly, so I would guess a small should be about right for you
Good stuff.I'll call 'em in the morning and order one.
Hopefully, they'll build it up for me and let me collect on Saturday, once I've worked out where my carrier is.
