I have worked out that it isnt the cold causing my nether regions too go numb it must be blood flow !!!! I have a specialised stumpjumper elite with the standard saddle. I wonder if I need a better quality saddle or just need to change the angle / position of the saddle.
I notice the problem when on long hill climbs.
Any thoughts?
Am I best going to a bike shop and asking for advice?

Start with making sure its setup properly -

With pedal at bottom of stroke, and correct part of foot over the pedal, a plumb line should run from the centre of the knee joint and down through the pedal axle. Move forwards/back as required.

Then make sure the saddle is completley level - if a full suspension bike make sure this is in the sag position and not the unweighted position, then angle will tilt back a little.

Try it, then try adjusting it nose up/downwards a touch at a time. You need to get in a good long ride and only adjust a little at a time.

Also - what are you wearing? Proper lycra with a Chamois? If not, buy some, its an absolute must. And dont worry about looking a div just wear baggies over the top.

And yes, when your wearing lycra cycling shorts your not supposed to wear any undercrackers underneath. (People do ask!)

Saddle choice really is a personal choice. It's a case of kissing a lot of frogs to find your Prince.

I have an SBG saddle on the Stiffee, an SLR on the S-Works and a Spesh BG on the Mong-One. They're all very different but suit me for what the use of the bike is.

Oh, and do the above.

Are you sure about that - it could be a nerve problem, and they can start in your feet.

Might be that your seat is too low?

Had similar problems, lifted the seat up 2" and I was riding perfectly.

If you're going numb it's the nerves, and if you let it carry on it can become permanent and even make you impotenteek

No point having great swimmers if the diving board has lost its spring...
