Not literally but in terms of out on the hills or on the rough stuff.

What would you tackle/try and how long have you been at it.

Allot of pressure in my group of riders to be pretty full on, but I like pootling and pretending (tho I tackle black runs on the hardtail)...

Hmm, i've been riding for 15 years or so now, always mountain bikes and i'm finally at a point that i'm confident to try almost anything I come across. Jumps and drops are still my nemesis though.

It depends on the bank balance. If I can pay the mortgage I'll try it.

I don't enjoy being 'hard', so I don't do it.

I do enjoy slogging up a hill and leaving other people behind though.

Well, my ambitions often over take my ability but I don't think that makes me hard (more stupid probably hehe). Haven't got the bottle to do big drops-offs and jumps though frown

There isn't a lot I won't do. Big gaps & drops are generally the sort of thing that stop me though, although thats more of a 'what if'.

Still have to pay the mortgage, and a month in hospital won't help!

Ex DH'er, taken to riding proper bikes uphill as well as down. Ride like fury all the time, its the only way. Double black diamond route for me please!

I do crash a lot though, perceived skill is definitely in excess of actual skill!

I'll generally have a go at most things... and sometimes succeed.

Currently waiting for the massive gash across the knuckles of my left hand to heal after coming off a mate's bike and grinding all the skin off against the road surface.

Drop offs are my nemesis are the moment, I went splat big time year ago or so and did some decent damage to myself - that was when I started out and its put me off since then (dislocated shoulder, cracked ribs, broken nose etc etc.)

Apart from a strong hankering for morphine it gave me a very healthy fear of any drop off on an incline or otherwise.

Jumps I just cant do cause im rubbish...actually im rubbish all round really.

Thanks for the replies tho - its interesting to see what people are like.
