Bike light laws & TFL
Discussion
Cycling back through Hyde Park last night I was accosted by an attractive young lady who sadly only wanted to thrust a free headlight into my hand. I couldn't say no and indeed it looks like a potentially useful three-LED windup get-me-home light. What a good idea I thought, TFL getting fed up of tits riding around with no lights (although perhaps October would have been more appropriate than March, but hey-ho).
What really tickled me was the large red text in the instructions that said 'Not for road use'. So either TFL are cretinously stupid (steady...) or they agree with the rest of us that the current bike light laws are a pile of doggy doo. Is 'Red Ken told me to do it' an acceptable defense these days?

tbh only one of the seven lights I have on my commuter is BS compliant.
Good stunt by TFL though. Now all that needs to be done is to get the roller bladers and joggers out of the cycle lanes that run through Hyde Park and it'll be a lot less of an obstical course.
I doubt there will ever be a time when the pedestrians ever look where they're going though.
