Aluminium or Magnesium?

Right. So I brought this topic up last year but the season pretty much ended before I made my mind up!!! So as soon as I get back from my holiday (I get paid you see), I'm going to buy myself a pair of Crank Brothers Mallet pedals.

That's a fixed choice. Not turning back on this. I've heard rave reviews on these pedals plus my bro-in-law has these and loves them to bits.

The question is however if I should be Alu or Magnesium pedals?

Any advice?

I'd go for the new version with the pins instead of original version with grip plates.

As for which one of the two that CB make? Well, if you're a weight wenny then the lighter, more expensive ones. If you not a weight weeny then go for the cheaper ones.

If cost is the issue then go for the cheaper ones.

I have the cheaper ones on the Stiffee. They take a real beating on the trails.
