What New/Starter Bike/FAQ/Sticky thingamabob?

Guys, as so many people seem to be coming here asking the same questions recently, would it be an idea to get our heads together and agree upon a 'Cycling for Starters' sticky which covers all or most of the faq's for mountain bikes and road bikes?

Good idea! Have sections for best hardtail/full susser for under £500, £1000, £1500 etc

Only trouble would be agreeing on the options

Yeah, i'm not sure that would be do-able (too many feathers/opinions to ruffle), but we could have alot of the advice we all know to be good stickied. Such as, don't buy a bike for less than £2-300, don't buy a FS for less than £800, get a decent helmet, decent brand names, places to find the good cheap bikes (like Decathlon) etc etc.
