Atom111 and I (along with a couple of buddies) are going to Glyncorrwg on Saturday the 8th of March to complete a Social / Seessioning lap of The White's Trail.

I need to pop in to Argos to collect my Inbred on the way down so we won't be in the car park much before 10:30am.

We will be riding up the climb socially and then spending time 'sessioning' some of the trails on the way down - mainly the Black run and Windy which look to be attached by the same fire road. Aim of the day - skills improvement. Time 4-hours ish. I'll be taking some trail food.

Feel free to join us. Transport maybe available to one person if anyone is wanting go from the Reigate area. PM me.

Please don't bh about this being in South Wales - if you can't make it cause you live in the wastelands of the North and/or it's too far to travel it ain't my problem - organise your own social ride.

ETA - This is where we're going http://www.glyncorrwgponds.com/mountain_biking%20t... we'll be having food in the Drop Off Cafe after the ride

No - that's why I posted up on a public forum.

I think what mk1fan is trying to say is if you fancy tagging along then come, the parameters of the day are set out above smile I believe it's an open invite but probably only if you have a mountian bike not really any good for bringing the Elise or Sagris wink

Hmm, it's a long way to go from here, couldn't we do it in North Wales? tongue out

Rightyo, i'm in I think, unless the trout springs something unexpected on me. How do I spot you gorgeous people? Anything I couldn't miss as I enter the car park like 'Fan's legend glow, PH badges on the car, a horrendous deformity or funny walk?

My 'group' will be driving the following;
black M3 convertable 'j' reg (I think)
met green Nissan Almera Saloon 'p' reg (I think)
met green VW Bora 'v' reg.

Most likely parked on the right hand side of the car park.

Atom111 is fk ugly, I'm a bald Legend, Peepay looks completely out of place and Pete has the look of a Peeping Tom.

Bike wise;
me - silver Cove Stiffee FR
atom111 - silver Orange Five
Peepay - red On-One Inbred 456
Pete - black Elesworth Ephifany

Well I cant make this one as im up at Old Trafford watching the Portsmouth game, but wanted to ask the question for the next organised ride.

Can i ask what the level of riding is? Im a 4 - 5 hours sort of person doing most stuff except northshore style courses, but am always up for riding with new people to improve my riding.

Cheers

Tom.

How far do you go over 4 - 5miles, Whites has a small amount of North Shore but nothing major.

If we take the Penhydd in Afan the fastest of our group does that in about 1hr 17 and the slowest of our group about 1hr 57 so there is a difference between abilities and if it's social then we wait for the slower guys at strategic points along the trail, if it's a challenge day then the is no waiting smile it will be clear what type of ride it will be. The 8th is purely social.

I managed the first Penmachno loop which I believe is either 19 or 22km in 2 hours dead the other weekend. I ride Rutland Water short (17 miles) on a weekly basis in 1hr 10 minutes and my local training ride is 6.5 miles, I do that in just under 30 minutes.

The ride will not be an epic ride. Probably less than 25-miles in total. I intend to work on getting the trails nailed down and trying out different lines, alternate routes etc... Hence repeating sections. I won't be racing. But then again certain people need to push themselves to set a decent pace on the downward stuff.

agree it's very much a skills session and getting the lines right, and am looking forward to honing my downhill speed a little, it's a tough choice whether to stick to the intense system 4's or chuck the High Rollers on.

I'd hold back on the High Rollers - at least then you'll have an excuse laugh

Save 'em for CyB in June.

Rutland Water and my training ride are both quite flat, but that said I have ridden 30-60 miles a week since before christmas. It's all paying off at the minute it would seem. Although, I can't be a legend as I have a full head of hair!

I'm looking a bit shady for the 8th i'm afraid, unbeknown to me I am double booked. If I can be, i'll be there, if not i'll catch you next time.

Following todays 'sessioning' in Swinley Forest I am really looking forward to the 8th.

I doubt fitness will come into it due to stopping and evaluating sections will give people the chance to catch their breaths!

Bump - to keep this fresh in people's minds.

Car change maybe on the cards

Myselk, Atom111 and Pete maybe in in a silver 57 plate Passat Estate. No changes to the bikes though.
