Have had a pair of MX Comp Air forks for a little under two years, and have been pretty good. Until yesterday when I went out to find the right hand leg covered in fluid.

Couple of questions - I guess this is a seal that has gone? And how difficult is it to 'mend'? Can this be done by an enthusiastic (but not especially gifted in the spanner dept) amateur, or it is down to the LBS for a fettle...

They were bought from wiggle, and I am seeing if I have any comeback given their age...but don't hold out any hope..

Advice please!

If you have used them lots, and they have been good, then you have a worn seal and they need to be replaced,

They are proubably too used and worn to have any come back with wiggle,

if you were thinking of attempting it yourself, becareful, as you do not want to scratch the stancians or mess the fork up, i have done my own forks in the past fine ( but messy and a challenge )

If your LBS is Marzochhi trained to service forks, cool, if not though

I use TF tuned, wow they are excellant, forks come back like new, and good value.

This is where i send my forks now.

Good Luck.

Marzocchi forks are a piece of piss to service, one of their plus points when buying.

You should find a service guide in your manual, or on the website, just look up by year and model.

Do the seals and flush out the oil and replace with oil.

DO NOT buy your fork oil from a bike shop - they will charge a fortune. Use motorbike fork oil from the motorfactors, but NOT any with seal sweller additives in.

I've alway Used Putoline or Silkolene. Litre bottle for about the same price as 20mml of Fox Forx branded fluid, and no matter what the bike shop tells you, it is the right stuff.
