CRC have finally got my front wheel to me only for me to realise it needs a conversion kit to run quick release. Am I right in thinking this is the puppy needed:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?Mod...

And do you know where I can buy one from? CRC don't have any, but even if they did I'd rather not give them anymore of my hard earned after the recent debacle.

Thanks all.

Neil should know more, but I thought dt swiss supplied everything. As in you get both qr, 20mm and spare spokes, spoke key etc etc. I'll try and find out tomorrow.

Hi mate,

Have checked with a mate who should know a bit about DT Swiss. The 1750 front wheel comes with just a 20mm bolt through. You'll need the QR adapter which is the same one as in the link.

They're imported by Madison (Shimano importer) so any good bike shop should be able to source the QR.

CRC advertise the front wheel as "26" 20mm 32h 6-Bolt Front Wheel". T'is a bit cheeky not to make it clear about the QR bit though. I've had no probs with them, but I have heard of lots of people having problems. Go elsewhere smile

Hope you're able to get the QR easily smile

Cheers guys, i've been on to Pace cycles who also appear to be an importer, they've said the same as you. I'll give them a call this morning and purchase the QR adapter and an RWS skewer.

Maybe buying them as a pair is different? Dunno...

I bought mine as a pair, just CRC balls'd it up and sent me two rears, of which I have sent one back for them to finally get a front to me. The rear wheels do come with all the right fittings, which is why it's odd that the front doesn't. I can't imagine everyone runs a 20mm bolt thru at the front?

Interesting... afraid my DT Swiss nerd has now gone to Cuba for a holiday, so can't be much more help.

Go direct to the source - Madison/Pace for info to be 100% sure.

I've just called the LBS I had ordered the parts need through to see if they had arrived, given that it's now been 8 working days. They had forgotten to order them.

What can you do?, LBS' complain that the online giants are stripping them of punters and that they can't compete with prices etc etc, you give them a chance and they forget to order the bloody stuff.

Anyway, 'hopefully' I should have my parts by early next week now.

I gave up on my LBS a while back and stick to Chain Reaction now. They were just useless at getting parts in, even with a realistic lead time (7 days). Then I found out they were just ordering parts off CRC and selling at RRP!!! cheeky sods.

Unsurprisingly, they shut down not long after...
