Have just signed up for the Vatternrunden in Sweden in mid June, a 186 mile through the night ride eek, and two weeks later, London to Paris yikes Any other mad men here?

If anyone wants me, I'll be out on my bike training.

For the last few years i've thought about doing one of the Merida MTB Marathon's in Wales, but always wimp out. The prospect of 100km in the saddle is rather daunting, so credit to you for opting for 300km. Nutter.

I haven't applied yet, but I'll be doing one of the charity London-Paris rides next year.
Which one have you signed up for?

Ah, *that* one.

A couple of friends are doing that ride - I hear it gets pretty competitive.
I'll stick to bimbling along on the charity ride thanks!

ETA - indeed, you are quite mad

I've signed up and entered for the 2008 Cape Epic - 966km in 9 days, although the first day is just a 15km time trial to seed us all. Personally I know where I'll be - somewhere near the back!

Still it's a challenge and is making me go out when I wouldn't otherwise want to, and the thought of riding in warm weather is keeping me going through these cold, gloomy months.

Some serious rides coming up for some of you. Have just entered the Paris Roubaix Sportive with my son and 4 mates. Option 1: 260kms covering the entire route of the race including 45kms of pavé.
Option 2: 190kms missing the first 45miles or so but still covering all 45kms of pavé.
Will ride the 2009 Transwales, have too many cycling trips/holidays arranged next year to fit it in.
Love the sound of the Cape Epic. Good luck to you all.

I did the Vatternrundan this year and I've signed up again for 2008 - it was superb fun. I'm also down to do the Etape 3 weeks later!! Now, where did I last see my bike!

186 miles? The most my arse ever stood up to was about 60.
