I recentley posted about getting a Scott Scale 10 2007 and unfortunatley I have missed the boat on last years sale models. However, I am now looking at the Scale 20 08 model and have secured a good deal from my local shop (If Clinton is reading this then thanks for the number of your mate, he was very helpful but we didn't manage to do business).

Now, I want the carbon frame so I also have the option of the 30 but I don't really like the colour scheme. What I was wondering is whether it's worth paying extra for what is effectivley a small component upgrade and if anyone has one of these?

Just on the off chance, if anyone knows of a 07 Scale 10 I would be very interested. I definatley won't ask the question if I should be getting a Stumpjumper instead, that would be silly......................................................

Thanks.

Although not Carbon, i do have a Scale 40 frame which i buuilt up mysef. I am guessing the geometry etc will be pretty much the same.

I think the Scott Scale's are an excellent bike - very fast and great uphill.

What size frame do you need?

Pedal On have some '07 Scale 10s in size 'S':

I called them to ask about the possibility of the Medium which I need and they said (and I covered this with other shops) there are none left, full stop. I did however discover my LBS (leisure lakes in Cheltenham) has a 08' Scale 20 and 30, result! Went to have a look at them tonight and the 20 is a lovely bit of kit. I have aranged a short test ride Sat afternoon and have negotiated a really good deal which see's me paying £1800 with M121 shoes and some Scott bar ends thrown in. I get a running in service and a 6month service thrown in also.

I think it's a good deal as the Scale 20 07 model is selling for £1500 and the 08 model is a great spec and looks far better. Also, put a price on buying local as I had major probs when I bought my last bike from Manchester with warranty repairs.

Very happy, now to discover my local routes as I have only been in Cheltenham for 6 months. Anyone local to me who could show me the best routes?
