Mate of mine has been having loads of trouble with his new Saab lately, its getting beyond a joke. Anyhow, we went riding up at Entwistle Reservoir north of Bolton today, and he's jinxed me too!

1) Oil level sensor on my car - broken - needs replacing
2) Left foot pedal cleat - broken - need new shoes as cleat threats sheared
3) Pump clip - broken - pump hanging off
4) Chain slap coming fast down a hill, chain tangled in rear mech, 3 twisted links, 1 badly knackered and bent rear mech - needs replacing
5) Cycling shorts ripped in crotch (front of saddle caught them).
6) Rear mech frame hanger broken

DAMMIT! biggrin

pics (although not many as we motored along a bit)

that is bad news,

Rear mech, very cheap, very decent, and new.

You prob don't need a new shoe. I am pretty bad on keeping things maintained and once every two years or so I have to drill my cleats from my shoes. I do a fair bit of commuting and walk on concrete so I scuff the cleats which leads to the bolts rounding off as soon as an allen key go anywhere near them.

It's pretty easy and should save you the cost of new shoes.

Its actually the hole the bolt screws into, its fecked. Mind you theres another hole below it, they both move, so I'm hoping I can bodge it back together. Just ordered the replacement bits, XT mech, new cassette, new chain, new cleats.

Poss middle chain-ring also? Unless your bike is kept minty clean after a muddy ride or the chainset was quite new, you may find the new chain and casette will feel rough. If it does it is likely the middle chain-ring.
