Anyone here can download Google Earth and use it for free, but did you also know you can map out your bike rides?
I thought this might be a good post for people to find good rides in their area, seeing how Google Earth is so easy to use.
Heres one of my favourites, you can double click this and it'll load right into Google Earth. Start of the ride is near the A556, its about 9.5 miles long, a mixture of tight twisty treacherous track through woods, then onto a disused railway line on a gradual incline, then onto the Manchester Bolton and Bury canal for the return leg.

If you don't have your own webspace, you can join the Google Earth community (its a forum like this one), and automatically post the path up on their forum. Then you can link to the post from here so we can all see it.
To map things out, just click the 'Add' menu, and 'Path'. Use the cursor keys to scroll the map. You can set colour and line thickness in the properties box.

Well I'm going to post some more as I do them anyway
I'm thinking of doing this ride:
