Having been a mad-keen MTBer in my youth and not having fully let go just yet wink I've been out and about trying to get a little fitness on road. But I'm itching to get onto some decent technical fun trails....

Does anyone else fancy a bit of an MTB hoon around Epping or Thetford forest in the next few weeks? Hopefully we can get togther a few PHer's for a good pre-xmas blast!!!

I could probably make both those dates (providing I'm not moving house which I doubt will happen before December now!)

Nervous - we'll have to get some practice in! Are you still ok for tomorrow?

Thetford's great - shame it takes me 2.5 hours to get there.

Are you talking Thetford or Epping? I'm hoping to go over to Thetford on Saturday, I think Nervous was hoping to make it Saturday too...

Just the two of you guys? I may just nip up to Epping then - bit nearer my neck of the woods!!

I can foresee a big Pedalhoon though in the new year @ Thetford!

Bit harsh, considering I didn't think anything was happening after all! Still, rest of your story is amusing hehe

Just checked on AA and its a mere 90 miles, which means at least 2hours considering I'd have to use my Pug 205 to fit the bike in.

Epping is a decent easy-access riding spot for Londoners though wink

I'm not a pro rider or anything, I have a Specialized Rockhopper in standard form + some DMRs and that's about it. I have no special clothes or anything, but would love to come along if you'd let me tag on.

Is it difficult? Would I be able to keep up? Do I need any special equipment ( I suppose a helmet would be handy)

We are far from Pro's so you'd probably fit in well!

Its not too dificult, there are some area's which are hardwork though. We like slow riders as it gives us a chance to keep up!

No need for special equipment, I've only just started wearing a helmet but I've never bothered before. Also a pair of shoes with decent grip may be handy....
