Has there been a recent sale of these frames / bikes around the bristol area recently?

I friend and I were up Ashton Court taking in a couple of laps yesterday, and it seemed like every other rider (different people smart arses) had a flat satin black P7.

Is the P7 the new XR3i of the MTB world?

The Matt Black does look awesome, I reckon that there must have been a fresh delivery of them, as we saw a couple in Coed the other weekend. Nice bikes though.

Agree they are great bikes. I had a nickel plate finish one. Typically the finish started to flake, and all they could offer was to paint it. Gutted frown

Just seemed odd that there are so many similar bikes around on one days ride out.

It's still not a Specialized though mate, you don't have to worry just yet.

Or an On-One which I believe Shell are giving away with every 25lts of Optimax fuel.

Very nice frames but (as with the Cove Handjob XC) it's hard to justify the additional £'s when the On-One Inbred range and Pipedream Sirrus all come in under £200. Although my HJ was awesome. Damn it, I want another one now.

I think I need to ride the On-One back to back with a more expensive bike, there has to be a reason they are at that price point but maybe they are the nirvana of cycling frames. But they do appear excellent value for money of that there is no doubt. Maybe we should ride PP's on-one on that twisty single track piece at the top of CwnCarn in a week or so, take a pedal spanner with us.

V true yes

I'd call them the VW of the bike world. Better than the Ford / Vauxhall stuff on the market, but still a mainstream brand that are a step down from premium sports kit.

Still, eventually there'll be enough in the bank for a Santa Cruz Nomad, and a Bianchi carbon road bike ... Then I'll be happy smile

My Santa Cruz riding work buddy refers to Specialized as "the Ford Mondeo" of mtb's.....and he refers to my matt black Orange P7 as the "Morgan".

What does he call his Santa Cruz?

I'd guess that the Pagani of MTB's would have to be the Ibis Mojo. I like the morgan analogy for the P7 - traditional materials hand made in a traditional way, yet remaining modern and desirable at the same time.

I'm not sure I like the Ford Mondeo too much, but will let it pass .... afterall, I do remember the supertourer mondeo being a better BTCC car than the BMW or Audi towards the end of the series thumbup

The analogy for his Santa Cruz is BMW M3 (E46 stylee)....hmmmm
