Has anyone got experience of these lights:

http://www.jdcycles.co.uk/accessories/lights-front...

(With the twin battery endurance option)

My commute is 90% off-road with no other form of lighting, i'm looking for something which will light provide lighting so i can see rocks/branches directly in front of the bike and into the distance, currently i seem to have to ride really cautiously and it's starting to do my head in!

I've currently got some of these:

http://www.ukbikestore.co.uk/acatalog/info_LAM201H...

I generally ride for 1 hour each way to work so battery life is important.

Has anyone got any other ideas?

Check Merlin Cycles. They did have an offer on these lights.

Worked out to £139 I believe.

Don't know if the offer is still on.

Random question here chris. Can't help you but it can help me smile

I have some Smart lights but have recently lost the charger. I have found one that fits but after charging the lights for a few hours, I still get nothing. So I'm not 100% if it's the right charger.

Is there any chance of helping me identify it. E.g. Is there any writing on the charger or anything?

But on the other hand. I have herd good things about the hopes. Is this the same thing? http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/accesso...

Anyway I've only herd good things about them, so get spending.

Email me a picture of your lights - I have a set that I don't use any more. I'll send you the charger if I can find it (and if it's the right ones!)

Where are you getting your's from?

i'm looking at the endurance option which come with 2 batteries.

They seem to get decent reviews, the cheapest i found so far was Evans Cycles.

I have had the Hope Vision LED's for a couple of weeks.

Light is stunning, totally stunning

Battery life is also fantastic even on high.
So good that I am regretting buying the double battery version.

www.Merlincycles.com is the place to buy

Regards

Picked up a set today, very impressed, got them for a decent price as well.

Can't wait to give them a try next week.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for looking. My lights were by the same company just the one light option instead of the two.

Mine has 'Ever Glow'

Model No: DCC080050 DCC07050
Input: 240V @ 50hz 240V @ 50hz
Output: 8V dc, 500mA 7.5V 500mA

So similar things. Hmm I'll get the multimeter on the battery then. Can't see a way to get the light out to see if it's blown.

Time to spend some money hehe

These lights are awesome!

Just been and done a couple of laps of the local race-course to try them out and i think i've p*ssed a few dog walkers off!

Got to the stage where i had to cover them with my hand when ever i saw someone to avoid verbal abuse!

They cost me a few quid but you can see where the money goes, fantastic build quality (Including the brackets/mounts), great spread of light and nice and lightweight/compact design.

I recomend these to anyone looking for lights in this price range.

I only have a camera phone, but here is what you get. In this image I've pointed it to the ground as the phone is very insensitive at low light levels, but basically you get this brightness of light for a good 20-30 yards ahead. For 2 tiny little LEDs, the light output is very impressive.

I was doing a good 15-20mph along totally pitch black trails, with the light on. Amazing.

Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

The Wilmas will be a lot brighter. But also cost a lot more.

Wilma 6: 830 lumens, 4h, £600
Wilma 4: 830 lumens, 2h45m, £560
Vision LED enduro: 300 lumens, 3h30m, £189
Vision LED: 300 lumens, 1h45m, £158

fair enough, i just thought seeing those pics that teh Hopes look very good.

Just to let people know i paid 390 for my wilma 6's so dont be put off by some places selling them at full rrp but do expect to have trouble finding them in stock at those prices

Yeah. IIRC Lupine get very uppity with folk selling at less than RRP (which is why you won't find them at CRC, Wiggle or any of the other usual online retailers). £390 is a very good price for 'em - especially with the 4h battery.
