One of the guys here in the office just shouted over - "You going to critical mass on friday?".

Eh? What?

Its some mass meeting of cyclists on the last friday of the month. May be a bit of a laugh, gives the BiB a bit of a nightmare apparently.

Some info at http://www.criticalmasslondon.org.uk/main.html

Anyone else here ever attend these?

I've never been on one but these have been going on in one form or another for years.

In theory I agree with the action and the reasons behind it, in reality you end riding in large group of inexperienced riders through the inattentive traffic of London.

What is their message/ policy? I have read the website and they seem purpousfully vague. A mate from the pub who attends them says they are about banning cars in london? I quite like the idea of the ride just to have done some big event but refused the last one as if their policy is to ban cars there is no way I condone it. I turned down september for that reason, if they are campaigning for more cycle facilities and tolerance i am all in. For me if critical mass is a protest the reason they ride would be more important than the intrigue that makes me want to go.
