Pictures tell the story. Only got out to ride for an hour this weekend. Eventually stopped adjusting the suspension for every hill or descent and left it on 100mm up front and ProPedel on back. Works fine around here. Headset and wheel bearings are the smoothest I’ve ever felt! Rear caliper is actually a front one, so does away with shims/washers. Specialized saddle was bought months ago in anticipation of a new Epic, will find something appropriate soon. May get some braided brake lines. Anyone used them, HEL is the make I’ve seen? Tyres quite grippy but they do seem draggy’. Might be me. I think its going to be so much more comfortable and less tiring on long day rides. Wales next month so that will be a good test. Trying not to think about my hardtail, but its very hard not to. Must let go.

Yeah right.

As for braided hoses unless you are going to the Alps they are a vanity purchase but they do look good smile . I run braided on the bike for the Alps but all others are standard hoses.

But if you are going to the Alps braided do disappate the heat better and help prevent brake fade.

Have used braided on my motorbikes and know how much they improve things. But yes, it is a bling/vanity thing.
But hold on I am going to the Alps next year! So I can have them! When our group of 12 rode the Alps this year we all suffered from over heating brakes, 28 minutes of fast downhill constantley dragging the brakes will do that to most brakes. Only exception was someone using Formula brakes, and the guides because there absolutely feerless and very very good riders. Fancied Formula brakes but I do like paddle shifters so stuck to shimano.

Looks great. How tall are you to need to have the seat post that far out of the frame? You sure you've got enough left in the frame?

So I originally put braided hoses on my bike because they look nice at the time I had no plans of going to the Alp's smile Purely vanity smile but subsequent Alps did show me they actually serve a real life purpose other than looking good.

Having got all that lovely kit on the bike you really owe it to your self to get some lovely braided's.

Oooh look at the XTR skewer! Not seen one.

That's a nice bit of kit. Know what you mean about missing the hard tail though having just built a full susser.

Xenocide know what you mean about hardtails. We ride in Wales about four times a year, 5 full sus and me on my hardtail. Varied abilities and I'm giving away over 24 years to these younger wippets' Only ever lose out on the burliest' and hardest downhills, no more than 5% of a downhill. Rest of the time I'm quicker. I actually enjoy being the underdog!
Keep looking at the Charge Titanium Duster, dont need one, just want one...................................oh dear here we go!
