I receently bought this (my first proper road bike) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

it arrived today and looks fantastic, the wheels are a work of art, the pearlescent paint although not light, looks amazing. BUT, the rear mech hanger has been damaged by Parcel Farce, one of the castings has sheared. I'd really rather like to ride it this weekend, so does anyone know of anywhere I can order a new rear Shimano rear mech (105 or better) with saturday delivery, so I can play this weekend?

Alternatively, does anyone know a decent cycle shop that stocks such items in Kent, Essex, or East Sussex?

Cheers

If you order tomorrow morning and say you want it Guaranteed Next Day you should be fine. Though you may have to pay a bit more.

Royal Snail is obviously out of action until Monday but any courier or even Parcelforce should get it to you for Saturday no probs.

Good luck and enjoy!

I don't fully understand what damage has been done to the bike. It the rear mech hanger has been broken then that's bike specific and you need to contact them for your local supplier.

If the rear mech itself has been broken then any bike shop will, most likely, have a suitable replacement. Evans would probably have one, Halfords would also be worth a go.

The only way to guarantee Saturday delivery is to go to a shop and buy direct.

Wildside, Tunbridge Wells - http://www.wildside-online.co.uk/
Cycle-Ops, Tonbridge - http://www.cycle-ops.co.uk/

are both good shops I've used that are likely to have what you want in stock.

Sorry didnt mean rear mech hanger, when I typed that I'd just been speaking to a friend, who was relating tales of woe about his mech hanger, ooops!

It is indeed the rear mech itself, one of the castings on the chain tensioner has snapped, causing it to sit crookedly, it still shifts properly, but doesnt line up properly with the sprockets on the cassette.

Yeah, I cant wait to have a proper go on it rather than just up and down the road in the 1, stupidly low gear that works tongue out I ended up paying £21 redface for TNT Saturday delivery of a Ultegra 10spd SS derailleur, I wouldn't normally pay that much for delivery, but I desperately want to have a go this weekend! I'm working tomorrow morning, so hopefully tomorrow pm and Sunday should have a decent bash at it!
