Cwm Carn Visit Saturday 22nd
Discussion
I shall be riding round the XC course at Cwm Carn again theis Saturday. I shall be calling in at Argos in Bristol between 8 and 8.30am to collect my Stiffee frame so should be in the car park around 9.30 - 10am.
Dark Green Bora with uk-mkiv's number plate surrounds. It will be me (M4 S-W's FSR) and my mate (Ellsworth Ephifany). Atom111 isn't allowed out to Wales this w/e.
Will be looking at doing two laps of the XC course. I won't be attempting the Downhill course on my FSR.

We're getting some pretty heavy rain showers here in the valleys (I'm about a mile north of Cwmcarn at work), so expect a very moist morning tomorrow!
If it stays like this, I'll probably stay at home 'cos I've got no wet weather gear! If it clears up, I might be out tomorrow morning - look out for me on my brand new Orange Crush

Picked up the Stiffee from Argos and all is well again. Will be build her back up over the fourth coming weeks.
As for today's riding at CC. Excellent. My lungs are too small, my legs not strong enough and my eyesight curiously blurry but that just adds to all the fun.
Managed to complete two laps without breaking anything, which makes a nice change. Weather wasn't as good as last Saturday but the trail wasn't that damp after yesterday's soaking. There was a very brief 'spitting' shower, but other than that it was dry and just the right tempreture.
I saw a Hustler in the car park but not G-Spot or Foreplay

I managed a couple of laps on Saturday too, at my own special (read: walking uphill) pace. I've usually been avoiding Cwmcarn when it's been wet 'cos I'm not really a fan of wet muddy trails. Rather suprisingly though, on the slightly moist trails this weekend my bike was really hooking up well - even better than when it was very dry and dusty a couple of weeks ago.
I'm getting used to riding a hardtail too - starting to really get a sense of flow on the downhill sections. The brakes have finally bedded in properly too, which is good for my confidence levels. Those 8 inch discs really do work! :O
I still suck at the uphills though. Was going for full attack, out of the seat style climbing, and my knees were utterly wrecked by the time I'd got to the top of the hill on the first lap. I walked 90% of the uphills on the second lap just to save my knees for the descent!
