As i am sure is the case with many of us, now i have got into building and messing around with bikes, my shed is fast turning into what looks like a spare parts department.

Some of them are barely used (bought in error, not right for me etc etc) so i was just wondering if there are any good places to sell on second hand parts, internet or otherwise? Or would my LBS be interested?

regards

Greg

e-Bay mainly, freecycle (I think) but this is more of a give away / swap community.

Be prepared for stupid questions like 'What colour is the black frame?' Or 'I'm 6ft 2 would your small frame fit me?' or 'Are these 9-spd shifters compatible with my existing 8-spd gears?'

yes And, "I know you said no offers, but are you interested in taking £5 for your Carbon Fibre frame?"

Twunts.

But yes, Egay is best.

I use www.singletrackworld.com as do others on here.

It's excellent and if your stuff's decent you'll get a good price for it. Not always the case on eBay.

Why not put them in the miscellaneous section of the PH classifieds?

Not sure whether this would also break forum rules. On uk-mkiv's we have a 'sticky' thread where members can post links to their eBay auctions - or auctions that maybe of interest. Don't see why it would have to be exclusively eBay and, of course, PH's couldn't take any responsibilty for items etc....

I would have thought as long as we don't overtly selll eg put prices alongside items, then we should not be doing any harm on PH. I would have thought it would be Ok for a poster to simply say what spare parts they have lying around in their shed, then if anyone is interested in those parts, be it for asking how good they are, whey they are spare and not being used, etc etc they can always make direct contact.

Do we think this would be OK on here?

Do we have a MOD for this forum? If not, i have a few pals who are mods on other forums so i could run it by them

We do have a mod chaps biggrin

I don't want a sticky or anything that would constitute a list - it'll look shit.

What I will do is ask for a Pedal Powered Classifieds section for Bikes and also Parts.
