Having been a lifelong 'lidless' cyclist I've decided to buy a helmet. Not wanting to sweat like paedo in Toys r Us, I obviously need a well vented lid. However, being a bit of a slaphead I don't want to end up with a silly criss-cross pattern sunburned onto my pate. Nor do I want to put greasy sunscreen on under my nice new helmet.

Can any baldies out there offer any solutions?

Whilst not a baldie, I can say that my 661 lid has a removable padded skullcap-type thing that has a very low probability of leaving you criss-crossed.

On the down side, it is a full-face, so it's a bit warm on the climbs!

I found the Assos skull cap is great for the winter and a cloth peaked one for the summer.....peak at the back protects your neck as well!!

Get a Buff. It'll soak up the sweat, and keep the sun off your skin. They do ones now that are properly UV tested too, although friends have used the standard ones fine. Lots of other uses for them too.
