So I found this picture of a Marin I owned to see if I liked running a full suss it now looks really dated and a bit grim should add I no longer own it, it did actually ride quite well.

Do you have any "classics" to share wink

I still ride my classic - 1995 Fat Chance Yo Eddy in the blue-green fade with Pace RC30 forks. Wonderfully light bike smile

No pics to hand.

See there are classics and "classics".

For example my original Clockwork Orange circa 1990's would be a classic and would say ride me.

The Marin is a "classic" and doesn't say ride me smile

I agree. One of my mates used to ride a lovely 90's Orange Clockwork. My Fat Chance alwyas makes me smile even on a road commute when my other option is a Cannondale Road bike - the Fat Chance is so much better (but Bath's roads are crap wink)

I just sold this to a guy doing a 1991 retro-build.

He says he'll send me pics when he's done so I'll post them.

Made me quite sad actually....

Cheers. Sad fact is that only the frame and swingarm are original - I've replaced literally everything else over the past year (including the shock, since that pic was taken).

Neil'll be on here in a minute I bet with lots more "Y" pics...

I can add to that biggrin

As with Petes (massive picture) - mines had a full 06 XT groupset, and some nice World Cup SIDs added - plus full carbon finishing kit :P

They ride really well still for 12 year old bikes - and how many full sussers can hit 24lbs these days?

Well my 99 FSR S-Works claims to be 23.5lbs when new and wearing V's and full XTR kit. It doesn't weigh that now.

Fat Chance - I so want one of those. Great bikes.

Saw an original Clockwork Orange being lifted onto a train at Clapham Junction yesterday evening. Very nice.

I'll post a piccie of my Dave Lloyd later.

No longer owned (someone tried to steal it and bent the frame), but I had an Orange C16R:

Sometimes see them come up on ebay and get very tempted to get another.

Was the C16R steel frame.

My Clockwork's life ended with me from being stolen out the garage, often think of getting one off ebay but have got the 2007 Clockwork.

Have been riding a '95 Kona Cinder Cone for the last 12 years (a glimpse of it is in my profile). Still a really nice bike to ride to ride. Rode the Bristol Bikefest 12hr and Bontrager Twentyfour12 enduro events on it this year and it was absolutely faultless. Only real changes I have made were upgrading the front brake to a V-brake (still got rear canti!) and ditching the gripshift in favour of Rapidfire, oh and some RST Mozo Pro 3.5 inch travel forks (!! the best i could afford at the time as a student). Will never sell this bike even though it is lacking modern equipment such as discs etc.

My Marin Eldridge

A cracking thing, but recently got a specialized hardrock, and unfortunately as there's no room for two bikes it's in the classifieds :-(

Dr Bob - I loved that rough grey finish on the early Marin's shame it's nearly as tall as me or i'd have been tempted smile I think that era and the one before the greys as in the Yellow Muirwoods were among the great Marin's.

I might have a picture of a bike with cosmic trail pads if anyone remembers them!!
